Surface Modeling

Traditionally, gathering this data was arduous and often times inaccurate. Now, with emerging technology, CNA is able create DEMs (digital elevation model) and DSMs (digital surface model) to convey natural and man-made elements of a project site for the purpose of creating contours, performing calculations, as well as visualizing the existing and proposed conditions. These models are created by conventional survey methods, 3D laser scanners, and by capturing photo data sets with our UAS drones and combining them into a cohesive point cloud, which is then used to gather contour information for use in creating the 3D model. These surface models are used as a basis for many maps and design projects.
